What you're testing
- Level 1 — Data Foundations (fully built)
- The lessons, worked examples, and sample tables
- Guided practice and independent practice activities
- The challenge problem and mini case study
- The 25-question quiz
- The copyable artifact and "Explain Your Work" reflection
- The lock/unlock mechanic (75% to advance)
- Progress tracking inside your browser
- The engine itself
- How smoothly the page flows
- Whether instructions are clear
- Whether scoring works correctly
- Whether anything breaks, freezes, or behaves oddly
- The brand and copy
- Whether the site feels professional and trustworthy
- Whether the tone is right for adult learners
- Whether anything reads as confusing, off-brand, or unclear
What's not built yet (please don't report these)
These are known and on the roadmap. Reporting them slows me down:
- Levels 2 through 10 (you'll see "coming soon" messages)
- The Capstone Portfolio Project at Level 10
- The Certificate of Completion
- Real cloud-based user accounts (sign-in pages exist but progress is saved only in your browser on one device)
- Multi-device sync (if you switch laptops or clear cookies, your progress resets)
- Mobile polish (works on phones but not optimized)
- Pricing pages (the dollar amounts are placeholders)
- The Exam Prep tracks (PrivacyReady, SecurityReady, AuditReady) unless I specifically ask you to look at one
- Practice Banks beyond Level 1's quiz
What feedback I need most
In rough priority order:
A. Content quality
- Did the lessons actually teach you something?
- Were any explanations confusing, too fast, or too slow?
- Did the worked examples make sense?
- Were the practice questions fair? Too easy? Too hard?
- Did the quiz feel like it tested what the lessons taught?
- Was the case study realistic and useful?
B. UI friction
- Anywhere you got stuck, lost, or didn't know what to click
- Anywhere you wanted a button, link, or feature that wasn't there
- Anywhere instructions were unclear
- Anywhere the page felt slow or unresponsive
C. Broken things
- Buttons that don't work
- Links that go nowhere or to the wrong place
- Quiz scoring that seems wrong
- Progress that doesn't save
- Visual glitches or text overlaps
- Anything that crashes the page
D. Confusing copy
- Sentences you had to read twice
- Jargon I didn't explain
- Tone that felt off (too formal, too casual, condescending)
- Promises or claims that felt overstated
E. The big question
- After finishing Level 1, do you feel like the foundation is solid? Would you want to keep going to Level 2?
- Is the time-per-level reasonable?
- Would you recommend this to a friend who wanted to learn data analysis?
What I'm not asking for yet
Please save these for later rounds:
- Suggestions for new features beyond what's already on the roadmap
- Opinions on Levels 2–10 content (since they're not built yet)
- Comparisons with other platforms (Coursera, DataCamp, etc.)
- Marketing or pricing feedback
How to send feedback
Email: feedback@techgics.com
Or use the 💬 Beta feedback button at the bottom-right of any page — it pre-fills the email with the page URL and a quick template.
Format I'd love (but don't stress about it):
Subject: [DataReady Beta] short description Where: which page or section (e.g., "Level 1, Practice Activity 3") What happened: what you did and what went wrong (or right) What you expected: what you thought should happen Browser: Chrome / Safari / Firefox / Edge Device: laptop / desktop / phone
Screenshots help a lot. Don't worry about polish — rough notes are fine. I'd rather get five quick messages than one long one you worried over.
Timeline expectations
- Beta period: [INSERT DATES — e.g., 2 weeks from your first login]
- Time commitment: ~2–4 hours total to work through Level 1 fully
- I'll respond to feedback within 2 business days
- I'll send you a short "what changed because of your feedback" summary at the end of the beta period
What you get
- Free permanent access to DataReady Lab when it goes live
- Credit as a founding beta tester (with permission)
- Direct line to me for feedback and questions
- First look at Levels 2–10 as they ship
Two last things
- Save your progress: it lives in your browser. If you plan to take a break and come back, use the same browser on the same device. If you clear cookies, you'll start over. Sorry — real accounts are coming.
- Be honest. I cannot fix what I don't know is broken. "This was confusing" is more useful than "this was great" if you actually found it confusing. I won't be offended.
Thank you for doing this. Let's make it good.
