Privacy Policy

1. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy describes how TechGics Learning Labs ("TechGics," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at techgics.com and related learning products (DataReady Lab, CIPP/US Prep Lab, CIPM Prep Lab, CISM Prep Lab, CISA Prep Lab, and any future products we release under TechGics).

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate the platform:

• Email address when you join the waitlist, create an account, or contact us. The waitlist form is provided by FormSubmit.co; submissions are forwarded to our shared mailbox at feedback@techgics.com.
• Account information — when you create a TechGics account, we collect your email, a password (stored hashed by our auth provider, never seen by us in plain text), and an optional display name. Account authentication is provided by Supabase (see Section 4 below).
• Optional context — what track you're interested in and any free-text message you submit with the waitlist or contact form.
• Local progress data — your lesson progress, quiz scores, weak-area data, and saved artifacts are stored in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device unless you explicitly copy and share them, or until we add account-synced progress (we will update this policy first).
• Server access logs from our hosting provider (Vercel) for security and reliability — typical fields like timestamp, IP address, user agent. Retained per Vercel's policies.

We do not currently use third-party analytics tools, tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or session-replay tools. If we add any of these in the future, we will update this policy and notify waitlist subscribers before any change takes effect.

3. How we use information

• To send occasional product updates, beta invitations, and pricing announcements to people who explicitly join our waitlist.
• To respond to questions, feedback, and certification suggestions you send us.
• To diagnose and fix technical issues with the platform.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing.

4. Where your data lives

• Static site files are hosted on Vercel.
• Email submissions from the waitlist form are routed by FormSubmit.co and delivered to a Microsoft 365 shared mailbox (feedback@techgics.com) under our control.
• Account data (email, hashed password, display name, account metadata) is stored by Supabase, our authentication and database provider, in their managed Postgres infrastructure. Supabase is a SOC 2 Type 2 compliant service provider. See supabase.com/privacy for their handling of subprocessor data.
• Your learning progress stays in your browser's localStorage on your device. We will update this policy before introducing any cross-device account-synced progress.

5. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your information.
• Opt out of receiving product emails (every email includes an unsubscribe option).
• Request portability of your data in a commonly used format.
• Withdraw consent you previously gave.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@techgics.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. To delete your local progress data, use the Reset progress button inside any lab, or clear your browser's localStorage for this site.

6. Children's privacy

TechGics is intended for adult learners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in the United States, or under the applicable minimum age in other jurisdictions. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact support@techgics.com and we will remove it.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

The TechGics website uses minimal browser storage:

• localStorage — to save your lesson progress, quiz scores, and artifacts on your device. Not transmitted to TechGics.
• Standard browser session state — required for navigation.

We do not currently set tracking cookies, third-party advertising cookies, or fingerprinting scripts.

8. Independent study aid — no certification affiliation

TechGics Exam Prep Labs (CIPP/US, CIPM, CISM, CISA Prep Labs) are independent study aids. They are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by IAPP, ISACA, or any other certification body. Certification names are trademarks of their respective owners. Our products do not guarantee exam passage.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page and announced to waitlist subscribers. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the most recent revision.
