Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 May 2026
1. Agreement to terms
By using the TechGics Learning Labs website at techgics.com or any related learning product (DataReady Lab, CIPP/US Prep Lab, CIPM Prep Lab, CISM Prep Lab, CISA Prep Lab, and any future TechGics products), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. What TechGics is — and isn't
TechGics is a practical learning and exam-prep platform built from 22 years of hands-on technology, security, risk, compliance, audit, and business experience. It is designed to help adult learners build skills and prepare for certifications.
TechGics is not:
- An accredited educational institution or degree program.
- A certification body. Our exam-prep products are independent study aids — not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by IAPP, ISACA, or any other certification body. Certification names (CIPP, CIPM, CISM, CISA, etc.) are trademarks of their respective owners.
- A guarantee of exam passage, employment, or job placement.
- Legal, tax, financial, medical, or any other professional advice. Information on this site is general and educational.
3. Honest claims
We use careful language deliberately. We say things like "prepare with confidence," "build practical readiness," and "designed to support your learning journey." We do not say "guaranteed pass," "guaranteed job," "become certified fast," or "master everything." If anything you read on TechGics suggests otherwise, please tell us at support@techgics.com and we will fix it.
4. Beta status and changes
TechGics is currently in beta. Content, structure, pricing, and features may change without notice as we test with early users and improve the platform. We will give reasonable notice of material changes to anyone on our waitlist.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use TechGics for personal, non-commercial learning. You agree not to:
- Reproduce, distribute, sell, or sublicense TechGics content (lessons, quiz items, scenarios, artifact templates) outside the personal-use scope.
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract content using automated means.
- Attempt to bypass progress locking, payment gating (when introduced), or other access controls.
- Submit personal information about other people without their consent through any contact or feedback form.
- Use the platform to harass, defraud, or harm others.
6. Intellectual property
TechGics original content — including original questions, lesson copy, scenarios, artifact templates, and the TechGics brand assets (logo, wordmark, concept icons) — is the property of TechGics Learning Labs. You may use it for personal study and non-commercial reference. You may not republish or redistribute it without written permission.
Third-party trademarks (CIPP, CIPM, CISM, CISA, IAPP, ISACA, etc.) are the property of their respective owners and are used here only to describe the topic areas our independent study aids cover.
7. User-submitted content
If you send us feedback, suggestions, or questions, you grant TechGics a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that input to improve the platform. You can ask us to delete personal information you've submitted by writing to support@techgics.com.
8. No warranty
The platform is provided "as is." We work hard to keep content accurate and up to date, but we make no warranty about completeness, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Laws, regulations, certification exam content, and best practices change; always verify against authoritative sources before relying on what you read here for high-stakes decisions.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TechGics will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the amount (if any) you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Independent contractor relationship
Nothing in these terms creates an employer-employee, partnership, or agency relationship between you and TechGics.
11. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page and announced to waitlist subscribers. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state of operation, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the appropriate state or federal courts of that jurisdiction.
